Asensi Abogados founder and managing partner, Santiago Asensi was a speaker at the 5th International Responsible Gaming Conference in Madrid in September.
The conference, held at the Comillas National Police complex, is one of the leading forums for discussion of social responsibility and fraud prevention. Asensi was contributing to a panel on Safe Betting and Fraud prevention which was introduced by Bo Bernhard, Vice President of Economic Development at University of Nevada-Las Vegas and moderated by Cecilia Pastor, Deputy General Director of Gaming Inspection in the General Directorate of Gambling (DGOJ).
Asensi was joined on the panel by Francisco Martínez, counsel for LaLiga, Felipe Sánchez-Pedreño Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for the Spanish Football Federation, Alberto Eljarrat CEO of Sportium and Claudio Marinelli, Criminal Intelligence Officer and Project Manager of the Interpol Match-Fixing Task Force.
The combination of representatives from the worlds of academia, the law, regulation, policing and sport made for a fruitful and interesting discussion on the integrity of football and sport in general and the protection of consumers.
