Asensi founder and managing partner Santiago Asensi was in Belfast in June to take part in the International Gaming Summit, IAGA’s flagship annual conference. Asensi was part of a session which examined the links between match fixing in sport and the reputation of the international gambling industry. The growing threat of sport’s manipulation is one of a number of worrying trends to affect the gambling sector and speakers outlined how the effects of match fixing can be addressed. The session was moderated by Brett Abarbanel, Executive Director of the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and together with Asensi, the panelists were Nick Oliver, Sports betting Intelligence Unit Manager at the UK Gambling Commission, Matt Fowler, Director of Integrity, International Betting Integrity association and Steve Paine, Co-founder & Director at Evolve Sports Integrity.
